Last Top 4 of the year!!! Find out more about Thursday’s Top 4 here! It’s basically a meme I started mainly for myself, but anyone can participate! Visit this page for the upcoming topics 🙂
This week’s topic is favourite 2017 releases, or 2017 releases you’ve read. This was hard because I didn’t read very many 2017 releases, but I managed to get it!
the sun and her flowers by Rupi Kaur, 4.5 stars
I loved this poetry collection. I love Kaur and her writing and how honest she is about everything. I wrote a rant about the response to this book, if you’re interested in reading that. But overall I loved it.
One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus, 3 stars
I reviewed this one, so for my full thoughts look here! Overall I enjoyed it and thought it was interesting, but the characters were too stereotypical and I wasn’t really wowed by it.
The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, 5 stars
We all know how much I love this book, so I won’t talk too much about it. But it was amazing and will probably be on my top 5 list for this year.
A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab, currently reading
Okay I just started this one, but I know that it will be in the top few. It’s so good so far, so I’ll update you once I’ve finished it!
Thanks for reading!
xx
I love your list! I just started reading A Darker Shade of Magic today and I already love it so I totally get what you mean!

I recently got gifted The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur. I can’t wait to read it, it looks amazing and when I was skimming through it I read some of the poems and they are so strong and well written and the message in them is just great…. I have a feeling I’ll be doing some tearing up while reading this one.

I started thinking about what my Top 2017 releases would be, and realized that I read more of “this year’s books” than is normal for me. I usually only read one or two books released that same year at most… I think for 2017 I read eight or maybe nine! That’s really rare for me. 🙂
But then… none of the 2017 books I’ve read are on your list. I guess there are still plenty more of this year’s releases that I need to get on… 😉

That’s awesome you read so many 2017 releases! I feel like I never really read the most recent books, but I did pretty good this year!
