Good morning, y’all, and happy Monday!
Today I’m writing a TBR (to be read) post. I know, hold your surprise. I don’t tend to write TBRs because I’m much more of a mood reader, and just tend to pick up whatever I feel like at the time. But, I sometimes like making long-term TBRs, especially when I have low-key reading plans. So this is more of a post to keep myself accountable and to remind me of which books I want to read soon.
So, let’s talk about some of the books I plan on reading in July and August!

Brood by Jackie Polzin: some of my friends and I are reading this book together (in theory) because of the gushing of our friend Marija. I have a week left on my library hold as I’m writing this post, so I plan to read it ASAP. I really don’t know much about this book except that it’s about chickens.
Influence by Sara Sheppard: my friend Rick on BookTube hosts the BookTube Spin every few months, and this month, not only was it a month early, but we also got an extra spin! This was one of my books for the Spin, which is great because I’ve had it on hold at the library since JANUARY and keep putting it off. So this will give me the push to finally read it. It’s about social media and stalking, I believe.
Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers: this was my other book for the Spin, and I was so excited! This book, which is about a woman who drunkenly marries another woman in Vegas and then decides to make the marriage work, is on my 2021 TBR, and I own a copy of it. So I’m very excited to read it.
Last Night in Montreal by Emily St. John Mandel: I’ve been following the buzzwordathon prompts set by Kayla from Books and Lala, and July’s word is “last”. I don’t have a ton of books with “last” in the title on my TBR that I’m interested in reading, except for this one, so it’s most likely what I’ll be reading! I love Mandel’s writing, and I’m really excited to read this one.

Wink, Poppy, Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke: August’s word theme for buzzwordathon is “time of day”, and this is one of the few books on my TBR with a time of day in the title. So it’s the one I plan to read! I don’t know much about this book except that it’s magical I believe.
Wild Women and the Blues by Denny S. Bryce: this was one of my most anticipated 2021 releases, because it sounds like it was written for me. It’s about flappers but also the modern day film industry I believe, and it sounds so good. I have it on hold at the library and am just really excited to read it.
Red Comet by Heather Clark: this is a biography about Sylvia Plath, and it is fucking long, so I’m listening to the audiobook. It is taking me forever because my commute is literally less than 10 minutes now, but I’m making my way through it! I hope to finish it by the end of August lol.
Replay by Ken Grimwood: I started this audiobook a few weeks ago, and then lost my hold at the library. I still have a few weeks, but I’m hopeful that it’ll be released soon. I was really enjoying the book, so I think I’ll be able to blast through it once I get it back.

So there are the books I hope to read over the next couple of months! If you see me reading other books, mind your business. jk love you all.
What books do you plan to read over the next few months? Have you read any of these ones? Let me know!
