Today the topic is popular books I haven’t read yet. I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about this topic before, but I thought it’d be fun to do it again.
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens: I’m honestly not 100% sure I want to read this book, but it’s on my TBR and it’s very popular. I do love historical fiction and the South, so I should give it a try some time. But probably not any time soon, because:
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware: I didn’t even know we owned this book until recently, but I do want to read it at some point. Thrillers never seem to work for me, but hopefully this one will!
Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami: I bought a copy of this book at a local used bookstore for $5 (this bookstore is literally just this guy’s personal collection that he also happens to sell). I love Murakami’s writing, and I’ve heard good things about this book, so I’m excited to read it!
Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid: I loved Evelyn Hugo, and I bought a copy of this book a few months ago and really want to read it soon. I’ve heard mixed things about it, so I’m hoping to go in with medium expectations.
Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo: this is another book that got mixed reviews but that is still on my TBR (for the time being). It sounds like something I would enjoy (maybe) and I love Bardugo’s writing, so hopefully it works for me.

Ally Writes Things 
The only one I’ve read is Daisy Jones – I thought it was fine, pretty diverting – but it’s written from the viewpoints of lots of different characters and I thought that all the narrative voices sounded the same. A fun read though.

I read “Where the Crawdads Sing” and “Norwegian Wood”. The first one has more adrenaline and it’s a beautiful story, the second one has a slower pace and it’s a bit weird (Murakami style). I recommend both of them, but as “Where the Crawdads Sing” is not available at the moment … you can go with “Norwegian Wood” for now 🙂

The only one I’ve read is Daisy Jones and at first I wasn’t sure about it at all but I ended up rating it 4 stars in the end because I thought about it a lot afterwards. I thinks its more of a grower though. I haven’t read Evelyn Hugo and have heard a million good things so I wonder if disappointment for Daisy Jones was because EH couldn’t be beat?

Good to know about Daisy Jones! I’m definitely planning on going in with lower expectations because I’ve heard mixed things. For me, Evelyn Hugo was one of my all-time favourites, so I’m not expecting Daisy Jones to live up to that. But I think a lot of people did, which is why they were disappointed

I’ve read The Woman in Cabin Ten, and for me it was a popcorn thriller. Easy to read, hard to put down, but not very filling… Still, it was enjoyable, and I’m not usually a big thriller reader either.

I loveeeeeddd Ninth House – one of my top 3 reads of 2019! I liked Daisy Jones and the Six, but don’t really fangirl over it as much as some readers who absolutely loved it. I’m also in the same boat as you with Where the Crawdad Sings. I’m really not into the premise, but almost everyone I talk to loves it and the hype has me intrigued.

Ahhh yay that makes me so excited to read it! And I’m hoping to go into Daisy Jones with low expectations lol. And so glad you get me about Where the Crawdads Sing! Like idk if I’ll like it, but now I kind of want to see what the hype is about

Ninth House was awesome and I’m not a big fantasy reader. The Woman in Cabin 10 was meh for me. But then again I read it right after reading The Woman in the Window was amazing
