Happy Tuesday, pals, and welcome back to another Tag Tuesday! Today I’m doing a tag that I was tagged for literally a year ago. Thank you, Siobhan, for tagging me and I’m sorry I didn’t get to it last year! Apparently this tag was created by Samantha on Youtube, so also go watch her video!
Anticipation: the Christmas excitement is real, what book release(s) are you most anticipating?
Good question. I never follow book releases, so I really have no idea. But maybe The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins, which has a terrible title but I’m excited for nonetheless.
Christmas Songs & Carols: what book or author can you not help but sing sit praises?
Probably Celeste Ng. Both of her books have been five stars for me and I just love her writing. There’s just something about it that works so well for me and I will write anything Celeste Ng releases.
Gingerbread Houses: what book or series has wonderful world building?
I’m going have to go with Game of Thrones by George RR Martin. I think his world building and characters are unparalleled, tbh. Apparently he has something like 2,000 years worth of history and lore for his world, so that might be why.
A Christmas Carol: favourite classic or one that you want to read
My all-time favourite classic is The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. Not to be an ~*~alternative quirky girl~*~, but this book is amazing and Plath made some points about being a woman and depression.
Christmas Sweets: what book would you love to receive for Christmas?
I have a whole Christmas wish list, which you can read here!
Candles in the Window: what book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling?
Recently, Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. It was so good and so cute and so sweet, and I definitely understand all the hype for it.
Christmas Trees & Decorations: what are some of your favourite book covers?
I recently did a whole post on some of my favourite book covers of 2019, but here are some of my favourites!
Christmas Joy: what are some of your favourite things about Christmas And/Or some of your favourite Christmas memories?
Ooooh I like everything about Christmas, honestly. I love Christmas baking, I love decorating and decorations, I love wrapping presents, I love giving and receiving presents, I love Christmas eve.
The past two Christmases, I’ve mainly asked for books. So we’ve done this thing where every time I open a book, we all guess which book from my list it is. That’s maybe been my highlight from the last couple of years.
So there’s the tag! Thank you again to Siobhan for tagging me, and I’m sorry it took me a full year to do it! This tag was a ton of fun, and I’m super excited for Christmas.
What about you? What are some of your favourite holiday memories? What are some of your favourite book covers? Let me know!
Ally xx
I love Christmas baking, too! My favorite memories, though, are from when I was young and my sister and I would sneak downstairs early and try to play with the toys Santa left without waking up my parents. (I’m not sure how successful we were at the “not waking parents” part, but we tried…)

Really want to read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (though, yeah, I don’t like that title either) and I’m glad red white and royal blue gave you the warm fuzzies- it sounds awesome!
