Thursday discussion: books I need to read before the end of 2019

Happy Thursday, everyone! Welcome to this week’s Thursday Discussion. Essentially, this is a biweekly meme where you write a post based on the prompt for that week. The post can be as long or as short as you want, and you can talk about as much or as little as you want. Visit this page for the upcoming topics! It happens every other week, and I generally post the topics a month(ish) in advance.

This week the topic is books I need to read before the end of 2019. I think I’ve actually been pretty good about reading the books on my 2019 TBR, which is exciting.

Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: this is the last book on my 2019 TBR that I still need to read. I’m honestly kind of on the fence about whether I want to read this book this year now, but we’ll see.

Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor: I started reading this book this summer, and had to put it down because of school. I’ll probably try to read it when I go back home for Christmas break.

The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker: I put this book on my summer TBR and never got to it, so I definitely want to try to read it soon.

Other than those three books, there really aren’t any books I feel like I have to finish before 2019 ends. Which of those three should I prioritize? Are there any other books I should read ASAP? What books do you want to finish before the end of the year? Let me know!

  1. Half of a Yellow Sun!!!!! *squeals* that’s my favourite Adichie, I really hope you love it Ally. The Silence of the Girls is pretty great too, definitely an interesting Greek retelling. I’m with you on needing to read muse of nightmares. I keep putting it off lol!!! 🙈😳😂

  2. I haven’t even heard of any of these books but I will definitely be looking them up. I love getting to know what others are reading and finding new books for my tbr.

I confess to being a little too excited about this topic and joining Thursday Discussion for the first time that I scheduled the post a week early. Here’s a link to that… https://bookish-me.com/2019/11/21/thursday-discussion-books-you-want-to-read-before-the-end-of-2019/
