Happy Tuesday friends, I hope all is going well! Today I’m doing a tag, which I haven’t done in a while. This one is curtesy of Hanna, and was created by Jo @ The Book Worm Dreamer. Thank you to both of you, Hanna for tagging me and Jo for creating the tag!
RULES
- Thank the person who tagged you and link back to their post
- Link to the creator’s blog (thebookwormdreamer) in your post
- Answer the prompts below – all fantasy books!
- Tag 5 others to take part
- Enjoy!
5 star book
As clichéd as it is, I’m going to have to go with Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. It was one of the best books I’ve read this year, and I completely understand the hype.
Always going to recommend
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder. I think this book is so underrated, and it has so many good things about it. It has so many classic tropes: enemies to friends to lovers, sharing a room, taking care of the sick love interest. While still being a fantasy about a kickass woman. I love it.
Own it but haven’t read it yet
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. We have the ebook of this book, and I’ve been wanting to read it for a while now.
Would read again
Either of the first two books, honestly. But I guess also Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, because I ended up enjoying that book more than I expected.
In another world
I’m going to go with a TBR book and say Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples. It’s a graphic novel that has been on my TBR for ages, and I’ve heard really good things about it. I think it takes place on a different world? Correct me if I’m wrong, though.
Back on Earth
Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Steifvater, which I think counts as fantasy (Goodreads says it’s fantasy so that’s good enough for me!). I’m so excited to read it, and really need to get to it ASAP.
I’m tagging some people I’m pretty sure read a lot of fantasy but if I’m wrong please feel free to ignore me: Alexandra // Hamad // Kaleena
Thanks again to Hanna for tagging me! This tag made me realize that I really haven’t read a ton of fantasy lately, and I should probably get on that.
But which of these have you read? Do you agree with my answers? What are your favourite fantasy novels? Let me know!
Ally xx
I keep saying this, but I really want to re-read Poison Study soon! I loved it, and then continued the series and didn’t love them as much, and so haven’t gone back to the first book. But I remember really enjoying it, and want to revisit it!

I never continued the series because I was worried they would ruin the first one for me! But I definitely recommend rereading Poison Study! It’s really held up for me

Awesome! I’ve heard multiple people say that they weren’t that thrilled with the rest of the Poison Study series too, so maybe you made the right choice there. But then again, you might enjoy it. It’s hard to say.

HIghly recommend reading The Name of the Wind, it’s one of my all time favorites, but I know it’s freaking long so it may take a while…
I’m reading Call Down the Hawk right now and it’s amazing too! It’s kind of urban fantasy? or a sort of magical realism? idk, either way it totally counts as fantasy😀

It’s definitely high on my TBR list, so hopefully soon(ish)!
Ahhhhh good! I was worried about Call Down the Hawk, so I’m glad it’s good!
