Happy Tuesday, gals and pals! I was tagged for this tag by Jess and Rebecca, who are two of my favourite bloggers! I’ve followed Jess since almost the beginning of my blogging days, and I love her blog. And Rebecca is one of my best blogging buddies, and she’s the nicest person ever.
I couldn’t find who created this tag, but please let me know if you know!
What is the longest amount of time you can comfortably go without picking up a book?
Honestly, sometimes I go months without picking up a book for fun. I spend so much time reading for school and work that I don’t always feel like reading when I have free time. But I generally like to read at least one book every month.
How many books do you carry on your person at any one time?
Physical books, generally none. Though I do usually have one in my backpack for reading on breaks at work. But I also have the kindle app and OverDrive, so I usually have a book on there that I’m reading!
Do you keep every book you buy/receive or are you happy to pass them on to make room for more?
Philosophically, I like passing along books. But in reality, I keep most of them. My family has boxes of books in the basement that we just haven’t gotten rid of yet.
How long would you spend in a bookshop on a standard visit?
Probably 30-60 minutes. I honestly don’t go to bookstores all that much because I buy books every time I go in one, so I just don’t go in them.
How much time per day do you spend reading?
For school? Like four hours. For pleasure, about an hour (if we’re lucky).
When does the task ‘picking up a book’ appear on your daily to-do list?
Either on my breaks at work or in the evening before bed!
How many books do you own in total (including e-books)?
Okay so my family did an approximation last year, and including e-books, we have about 1,200. Keep in mind, though, that that includes books my parents have owned for ages and the aforementioned boxes of books.
Approximately how many times do you bring up books in conversation?
Like in normal conversation, very rarely honestly. Unless the conversation goes that way, I don’t generally talk about books.
What is the biggest book (page count) you have finished reading?
According to Goodreads, the longest book on my read list is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at 870 pages.
Is there a book you had to get your hands on against all odds?
Not really. There are definitely some that I wouldn’t mind getting signed, but I wouldn’t spend a lot of time or money getting them, per se.
That’s all for today, folks! What about you? What’s the biggest book you’ve finished reading? When do you do most of your reading? Let me know!
Ally xx
My fam has about the same # of books. Overdrive is truly great, has been lifechanging for my reading. 😀

Yes! Walking into a book store is dangerous business. It’s almost impossible for me to leave without buying anything.

Fun tag! What kind of books do you parents have in their boxes? Have you gone through them to find stuff you would like? I wish my parents had boxes of books 😂😂

Thank you!!
A lot of them are series that my brother and/or I read when we were younger. We needed space on our shelves for new books, so they went in boxes instead lol!

I think the longest book I’ve read (by page count) is probably Harry Potter, too. It can be hard to judge, though, since ebooks count pages strangely sometimes, and font size matters a lot when you’re trying to compare books.

I know! I feel like the longest physical book I’ve read probably isn’t Harry Potter, because I have the paperbacks, which have much small font and thinner paper. But I’m too lazy to go through my Goodreads and put the proper edition for every book I’ve read.

I try to put the proper editions for my books, but what do you do when you read a different version? For example, I initially read the Potter hardbacks, but I’ve also listened to the audiobooks, and I recently bought myself a paperback box set edition. So which do I log? Argh.

Aw thank you for saying that about my blog! I loved your answers. It still shocks me how long Order of the Phoenix because normally that size would intimidate me but it’s one of my favourites in the series. X

Of course! 💖
Same!!! Order of the Phoenix is one of my favourites, maybe because of the length because so much can happen!

Ahhhh so glad you agree and I’m not the only one who can go ages without reading!! I feel bad sometimes, too, but I’d rather enjoy reading and not force myself to do it.
It’s mainly just a lot of reading, so I don’t always feel like doing more reading after haha

I’ve never counted how many books I have! But I totally agree about the if I go into a book store I have to buy. Especially since starting my blog!

We did a rough estimate last year because my dad was curious lol. We had way more than I was expecting!
And yes!!! I just stay away from book stores so I don’t buy anything lmao

What a fun tag!! I always have my Kindle and OverDrive apps downloaded too, so my reading list never ends! I spend a while reading books for school as well, but I try to squeeze in at least an hour of reading for fun at night! ❤
