WWW Wednesday: June 19

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Today I thought I’d update y’all about my current reading situation by doing WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. All you do is answer the three questions and leave a link to Sam’s post!

The Three Ws are:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What are you currently reading?

I’m currently listening to the audiobook of The Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvater, and I’m loving it! I was on a business trip last week and had a three-hour drive, so I listened to this both ways. It’s fantastic so far. I’m also currently reading Ready Player One by Ernest Cline and I’m having mixed feelings? Entertainment level is high, but I also roll my eyes a lot, so idk what my overall thoughts will be. But like I said, it’s fun and entertaining.

What did you recently finish reading?

The most recent book I finished was Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi (finally). I loved it, and it definitely put me into a bit of a bookish hangover. I didn’t read anything for literally a week after, partially because I was busy and partially because I just didn’t want to. But it was an easy 5-star read for me.

What do you think you’ll read next?

If you remember from my last post, these are the same three books. I haven’t read any of them yet. But I really want to read The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker or Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor soon. I also want to continue with 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. I’ve finally reached the halfway point! I want to finish book two by the end of the summer.

Also recently, my best friend bought me The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See, which I’m really excited to read, so I’ll also probably read that one soon.

That’s all for today! Have you read any of these books? What are you currently reading? Let me know!

Thanks for reading! xx

  1. I am currently reading My Lady’s Choosing (because I was curious about a choose-your-own-adventure romance novel) and listening to Even Tree Nymphs Get The Blues (Audible Original novella, free with membership). Neither is going to be a new favorite, but they’re amusing. I plan to pick up Pratchett’s Witches Abroad next.

I want to read The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane also! I don’t have it yet, though, so it will be a while I suspect.

      1. I read a bunch of them when I was a kid. At the time, I could happily re-read the same opening to see how things would change if I made different choices. I was a bit obsessed with making sure I read (or re-read) the “best” ending last, since it felt like that would be the way the book “really went”. 😀
