Top 5 Tuesday: Top 5 “Unputdownable” Reads

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Today I’m back with another Top 5 Tuesday, which is a weekly meme created by the lovely Shanah at the Bionic Bookworm. You can visit here for the upcoming topics!

This week, the topic is Top 5 “Unputdownable” Reads. The best feeling in the world is when you get sucked into a book you can’t put down.

The 7 and 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton: I read this recently and it was the definition of unputdownable. It was compulsively readable, and even though it was super complex, it was still easy to follow (if that makes any sense).

Red Rising by Pierce Brown: this is just so action-packed and so good. Even though it’s long, I read it so quickly. I cannot recommend it enough. Please please please read it.

The Martian by Andy Weir: this book is just so fun and funny and easy to read. Even though it’s sciencey, Weir does a great job explaining everything and makes it easy to understand. And you want to know what happens to the characters, which also makes it easy to read.

Nimona by Noelle Stevenson: Nimona is my all-time favourite graphic novel. I read it when it was a still a webcomic and was only updated every week. I love it to death. It’s a super quick, fun, easy read.

Unwind by Neal Shusterman: Unwind is so action-packed and interesting. I read it on a plane and read it the entire four hours. It’s so well-written, and the hype is real and so deserved.

So those are some unputdownable books that I’ve read! Have you read any of these? What are your thoughts? What are some of your unputdownable books? Let me know!

Thanks for reading! xx

  1. I keep seeing Nimona being recommended – I’ve got to check it out soon!

The only one from the list that I’ve read is the 7 1/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, but I found that to be confusing and didn’t enjoy them as much. I think I’m more of a straightforward mystery type of reader!

    1. Ahhhh I hope you love it! It’s so sweet!

And that’s totally fair! I was confused for a good portion of it, but I thought it was still easy to get through, if that makes sense? But I definitely enjoy straightforward books too lmao

  2. Oh I’m glad to see you mentioning Nimona – I don’t read a lot of graphic novels, but I really want to give them a try, especially this one, I’ve been hearing so many good things about it 😀
    Lovely list! 🙂

  3. The only one from your list that I’ve read is The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and despite it being hella complex I actually really enjoyed it! Oddly it isn’t one that I see a lot of people enjoying because I think it can be *too* complex at times and it is incredibly bizarre but for me it definitely worked! I would call it unputdownable as well.

I think I called it Quantum Leap meets Agatha Christie on acid and that’s very much a recommendation!
