Happy Tuesday, and happy Tag Tuesday, everyone! Today I’m doing the A to Z Book tag, courtesy of the lovely Kelly! I’m sure you all know who Kelly is because her blog is the best, but if not, make sure you go check her out! Also I’m sure I’ve done this tag before, so I’m going to try to have different answers than last time.
As far as I can tell, the creator of this tag is Jamie @ Perpetual Page Turner! Thanks to Nicole for finding it 😘
A // AUTHOR YOU’VE READ THE MOST BOOKS FROM
If we’re talking straight-up number of books, probably Robert Muchamore because I’ve read the entire CHERUB series. If we’re talking books not in a series, probably Neil Gaiman.
B // BEST SEQUEL EVER
Morning Star by Pierce Brown, which is the third in the Red Rising trilogy. It’s just so good. All the books in the series are great, though.
C // CURRENTLY READING
As I’m writing this, I just started A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. I’m also currently reading 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami.
D // DRINK OF CHOICE WHILE READING
Hot chocolate or a mocha!
E // E-READER OR PHYSICAL BOOK
Both! I love my kindle, but I also love physical books.
F // FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU WOULD’VE DATED IN HIGH SCHOOL
Probably James Potter or Sirius Black, if we’re being totally honest.
G // GLAD YOU GAVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE
Shanghai Girls by Lisa See. It had been on my TBR for FOREVER and I had just never read it, and I’m so glad I finally did. I will definitely be reading everything else Lisa See has ever written.
H // HIDDEN GEM BOOK
I think I’ll go with Beastly by Alex Flinn. No one remembers this book, and it’s so good!
I // IMPORTANT MOMENT IN YOUR READING LIFE
Would it be cheesy to say when I read Harry Potter? Because that was an important part of my life just in general. TBH it was the first thing my brother and I had in common and it was the thing that made us stop fighting 24/7.
J // JUST FINISHED
As of writing this, I just finished A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard. It was super interesting and I’m glad I read it, but I don’t think I’ll be reading it again because once you’ve read it, you know what happens, you know?
K // KIND OF BOOKS YOU WON’T READ
I don’t really read a ton of erotica or pure romance. It’s not that I won’t read it, I just never do. I actually enjoy a lot of romances, I just rarely reach for them. I tend to like romance as a part of the book rather than the whole book.
L // LONGEST BOOK YOU’VE READ
According to Goodreads, Game of Thrones by George RR Martin at 848 pages.
M // MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER BECAUSE OF …
Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. I just wanted to read it, or something like it, for forever.
N // NUMBER OF BOOKCASE YOU OWN
My family has about four, but two of them are floor-to-ceiling (they’re very magical).
O // ONE BOOK YOU’VE READ MULTIPLE TIMES
Most of my favourites, tbh. I’ll go with The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. One time, I read it while on a sailboat cruise, which maybe wasn’t the smartest but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
P // PREFERRED PLACE TO READ
My bed! And the couch, actually. But my bed is the coziest.
Q // QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU/GAVE YOU ALL THE FEELS FROM A BOOK
I really like
“Wherever you go, you take yourself with you”
from the Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. I just love it a lot?
R // READING REGRET
I don’t think I regret reading anything, tbh. Even the books I haven’t totally enjoyed, I don’t regret reading them, per se.
S // SERIES YOU STARTED AND NEED TO FINISH (ALL BOOKS ARE OUT)
I have a thing with never finishing series, tbh. But I currently have Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor on my shelf, which is the sequel to Strange the Dreamer, that I still need to read.
T // THREE OF YOUR ALL TIME FAVOURITE BOOKS
- The Life of Pi by Yann Martel
- The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls
- Every Day by David Levithan
U // UNAPOLOGETIC FANGIRL FOR
Harry Potter, always.
V // VERY EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE MORE THAN ALL THE OTHERS
I’m really excited for Wilder Girls by Rory Power. It just sounds right up my alley.
W // WORST BOOKISH HABITS
Never finishing series, some times not reading for a long stretch of time, never reading books by my favourite authors because I don’t want to ruin how much I love them.
X // X MARKS THE SPOT! START AT THE TOP LEFT OF YOUR BOOK SHELF AND PICK THE 27TH BOOK
Micro by Michael Crichton and Richard Preston. I haven’t read this book (I feel like it was probably my dad’s, or someone bought it for my mom because she’s a scientist), and the reviews on Goodreads are pretty bad so I don’t think I’ll be picking it up.
Y // YOUR LATEST BOOK PURCHASE
The Face on the Milk Carton by Caroline B. Cooney on my Kindle!
(as of first writing this post, I’ve gone to a used book sale and bought my mom books for Mother’s Day)
Z // ZZZ-SNATCHER BOOK – LAST BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP WAY LATE
The Seven and a half Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. It was so good. I was supposed to be working on a paper, and instead I was reading this book, so I stayed up until 2 am working on my paper.
I’m not going to tag anyone right now, but if you want to do this one, definitely do and let me know! Thank you again for the tag, Kelly!
Thanks for reading xx
This is a fun tag! I enjoy reading everyone’s answers to it. I’ve done it before, and didn’t link to the creator on my blog, but I hopped back through the rabbit hole and it looks like Jamie @ Perpetual Page Turner is the creator of the tag.

I love all your answers, Ally! And thanks so much for your sweet words about me! ❤ I adore the Graveyard book so much and that quote is amazing! I still haven't read Life of Pi yet, but I love the movie, so I'm sure I'll devour the book. Hot coco and my bed sound like a PERFECT reading day. And, I would die from sheer happiness if I dated Sirius Black. Hehe. 🙂
