Books with less than 10,000 ratings on my Goodreads TBR

Happy Wednesday, everyone! I hope you’re having a great week so far!

Today I thought we’d go through some of the books on my Goodreads TBR and see which ones have the fewest ratings. For this, I tried to only include books that have been released for a few years and have been on my TBR for a while.

Slide by Jill Hathaway (6,607 ratings): this has been on my TBR for AGES and I really need to get to it soon. I added it to my “read soon or remove” list, so it’s getting read this year or it’s being removed.

Moonheart by Charles de Lint (5,471 ratings): I actually started reading this book a while ago (like 8 years ago now) but it was my friend’s mom’s and I couldn’t leave their cottage with it. But I was really enjoying it and the setting, and I still really want to read it.

The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma (8,007 ratings): I’ve read one other book by Nova Ren Suma and it was okay. Not bad, but not great either. And I’m not really sure why this is on my TBR? It sounds really interesting though, so it’s staying for now.

Who Will Run the Frog Hospital? by Lorrie Moore (6,676 ratings): I honestly just love the title of this book. It’s so sweet and innocent, and the book sounds super interesting too.

Sad Girls by Lang Leav (5,821 ratings): I’m not sure how this book ended up on my TBR? But it’s there. Also after reading the first, like, five reviews, they are all very negative. So I guess we’ll see with this book.

Aquarium by David Vann (3,565 ratings): I think one of my fellow bloggers had a glowing review of this book, so naturally I added it to my TBR. It sounds super interesting, so hopefully I can get to it soon!

So those are some books on my TBR with fewer than 10,000 reviews! Have you read any of these? What were your thoughts? Let me know!

  1. I haven’t read these, but I want to read more by Charles de Lint too. I’m not sure if Moonheart will be my next read of his, but I enjoyed Dreams Underfoot enough that I will be going back for more!

  2. This is such a great idea! I’m a huge fan of reading works by underappreciated authors and love when bloggers use their platforms to highlight work that isn’t mainstream. Definitely adding some of these to my TBR!
