Physical TBR update: 2019

Hi everyone, I hope all is well!

Today I’m doing a physical TBR update. These are mainly the books I’ve received for Christmas and birthdays the past few years, and where I call myself out for not reading any of them. IN MY DEFENSE I don’t live at home during the school year, so I can’t read any of these if I’m not home.

(anecdote about that: every time I’ve talked to my mom since she read The Heart’s Invisible Furies, she’s asked “have you read The Heart’s Invisible Furies?” and every time I answer “no, it’s home in Calgary and I am not”)

Read

  • The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton: I just finished this recently, and it was really interesting! 3.5 stars
  • Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire: my review for this is coming Friday! I really enjoyed it and thought it was super interesting. 3.5 stars
  • Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng: this ended up being my favourite book in 2019. I loved it so much. 5 (million) stars
  • The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman: this was a fun, weird, easy read. I still can’t really decide on a rating for it, but it’s also around 3.5 stars
  • Women Talking by Miriam Toews: my boyfriend’s mom got me this for Christmas, and I really loved it! 3.5 stars

It’s finally summer, so I’m excited to finally be able to read some of the books I got for Christmas! It’s so good to be reading for fun again, I’m loving it.

But any way, have you read any of these? Which should I read next? Which were your favourites? Let me know!
