Happy Tuesday, everyone!! Today I’m back with another tag, today the tag by our fave, Ellyn! She created the Behind the Blogger tag, and it’s a lot of fun. So, thanks Ellyn for creating the tag and tagging me to do it!

The rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Answer all the questions down below
  • Pingback to the creator: Ellyn @ Allonsythornraxx
  • Nominate 5+ bloggers you’d like to know more about, to do this tag

WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING & WHY HAVE YOU KEPT BLOGGING?

Similarly to Ellyn, I wanted a place to talk about books. I had been coming out of a two-year reading slump (#yikes), but I was finally enjoying reading again and wanted to gush to people about that. I’m fortunate enough to have people in my life who also love reading, but it’s different than having a blog. I can’t just really be like “hey, what are your top ten favourite books with blue on the cover?” in regular life. I also can’t really just give someone a full-on review in real life. But on my blog, I can do what I want and talk about what I want.

I’ve continued blogging because I genuinely love and enjoy it. Honestly, I need some form of constant validation in my life, and my blog allows me to get that. Is that bad? Idk probably. But I do enjoy talking about books and reading other people’s posts and thoughts. Blogging has also encouraged me to keep reading, which I’m super happy about. And I love the people. Honestly, the community is so great and I’m so happy to be a small part of it.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TYPE OF BLOG POST TO WRITE?

I love writing recommendation posts. I just love gushing about books I love and am always trying to convince other people to read them. I’ve also recently been doing some less serious posts, which have been fun. And I love discussion posts, because I love when people tell me their opinions too.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 FAVOURITE BLOG POSTS?

I really enjoyed the one I did in February on YA fantasy book titles. It was so silly and stupid, but it was a lot of fun to write and people really enjoyed it. I also liked my discussion on whether a book can be a favourite and not a five-star read. A lot of people had great things to say, and it was interesting to hear everyone’s opinion. Finally, I also really liked my older discussion post on the portrayal of medication in YA. Even though it wasn’t as popular as some of my other posts, I thought it was important to talk about, and a lot of people had wonderful things to say.

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR FAVOURITE THINGS TO DO TO RELAX?

Read, watch Youtube videos, organize my bedroom, make hot chocolate (when I asked my boyfriend what I do to relax, he said “sometimes you just lie down” so interpret that as you will).

WHAT ARE 3 OF YOUR FAVOURITE THINGS?

(Ellyn I’m sorry, this is so broad and I’m so indecisive and idk how to interpret this. My three favourite foods? books? past times? songs? things to do when I’m bored?????)

Other than the obvious of friends and family, some of my favourite things include rock climbing, hockey, and hot chocolate.

(my boyfriend said “put ambiguity” lmao)

WHAT ARE YOUR PROUDEST BLOGGING MOMENTS?

I think when I reached 500 followers, honestly. This might sound conceited, but I figured 100 would be,,,, not easy, but easily attainable, if that makes sense? Like, I figured there’d be enough people interested in my posts and enough spam bots would follow me to make 100. But 500 seemed to big and much more unattainable. Honestly, the fact that there are so many people interested in what I have to say is crazy.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF BLOGGING?

Rock climbing, horseback riding, watching hockey, making to-do lists, baking

DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONALITY IN 3 WORDS

Passionate, sarcastic, indecisive.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP 3 PET PEEVES

  1. When people complain about things they could very easily fix. I’m talking about things like “I’m hungry” when you could go get a snack, or “it’s hot out” when you could just not go outside. Like, I feel like you can bitch about something once to get it out of your system, then either fix it or stop complaining.
  2. When people purposely misinterpret things. Like with the whole Marie Kondo thing that happened a couple of months ago, or people just purposely ignoring things.
  3. When I get interrupted.

me @ people interrupting me

WHAT’S SOMETHING YOUR FOLLOWERS DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOU?

I think I’ve mentioned it a couple of times, but I’m super interested in pharmaceutical pricing. Random, I know, but it’s so interesting.

  2. Thanks for tagging me!!! I’m sorry that I just saw this.

I’m so glad that you reached 500 followers you deserve it so much!!

Recommendation posts are easily my favorite kind of posts too. They’re just so easy to write up and fun. Fun especially because it’s just like yelling about your favorite books and forcing people to read them lol.
