Happy Tuesday everyone!!
It has been a minute and a half since I did a Top Ten Tuesday, which you can learn more about here! Today the topic is New-to-Me Authors I Read In 2018. I think almost every author I read in 2018 was new, and I found some new favourites honestly.
Celeste Ng: I read both of Celeste Ng’s books in 2018. Do you know how rare it is for me to actually read every book by an author????
Kazuo Ishiguro: I read Never Let Me Go early 2018, and it was one of the best I read. It was seriously amazing, and I want to read all his other books.
Ta-Nehisi Coates: I buddy read Between the World and Me with Rebecca earlier this year, and I loved it so much. I definitely want to read all his other books.
Laini Taylor: Strange the Dreamer ended up being one of the biggest surprises of 2018, and I can’t wait to read Muse of Nightmares.
Taylor Jenkins Reid: we all know that The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was one of the best books I read last year. I’ve heard a ton of good things about Reid’s other books too.
Haruki Murakami: Murakami is a really talented writer, and I want to read most of his books.
Sylvia Plath: The Bell Jar spoke to me in a way that most books haven’t. It was so good.
Min Jin Lee: Pachinko is maybe one of the best books I’ve read in a while. Seriously just such a beautiful book.
Neal Shusterman: okay guys, I get the hype. Shusterman definitely deserves it.
Lisa See: ditto for Lisa See. Shanghai Girls is one of the most heart-wrenching books I’ve ever read.
So, those were the authors I discovered in 2018! Have you read anything by any of them? If you have, which book by them should I try? Let me know!
Ally xx
Ishiguro is an author that’s hit or miss with me. Never Let Me Go is definitely my favorite book by him, though.

I really like One True Loves! It’s kind of a love triangle but not really?? It’s such an interesting take on the trope but I also love After I Do.

Lovely list! Taylor Jenkins Reid was the author of the year for me in 2018, I read 3 of her books and adored them all. I hope you’ll love her other books as much as Evelyn Hugo!

I need to get to Scythe this year. It’s been hanging on my TBR, mainly because of the hype. But everyone says that he deserves all the hype he gets so I think I need to finally get to that.
