Woman of the Month: firsts from the midterm elections

Woman of the Month is a feature on my blog where each month I highlight a woman in the world who I think garners recognition. I started this mainly to increase Girl Power and empowerment, and because there’s a lot of women I feel are overlooked and I wanted to bring attention to them.

This month, I thought I’d do something a little different. As many of you know, there was an election earlier this month. And there were a ton of firsts, and I thought I’d highlight some of the women who made history this month, instead of highlighting one specific woman.

I’m sure there were so many others that I missed, but still. It’s crazy to me that it’s 2018 and there’s just now the first Native American and Muslim women in congress. But, progress is progress, and I’m looking forward to the blue wave!
