Thursday’s Top 4: least favourite and lowest-rated books

Find out more about Thursday’s Top 4 here! It’s basically a meme I started mainly for myself, but anyone can participate! Visit this page for the upcoming topics 🙂

This week the topic is least favourite or lowest-rated books. I did both, so here are some books I didn’t like and rated lowly.

All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven (DNF)

If you’ve been around for a while, you know I hate this book. Like a lot. I hate the main character, Finch. He’s one of the worst and most pretentious characters ever. I couldn’t even finish this book.

The Sunbird by Wilbur Smith (1 star, DNF)

Same with the pretentious characters. I hated the main character in this. Part of it is when it was written, but that doesn’t make it okay.

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell (2 stars)

I didn’t hate this book, I also just didn’t like it. We didn’t click with each other.

John Dies at the End by David Wong (no rating)

Objectively not a bad book, but annoying and pretentious and just plain weird. Like, am I sad I read it? No. But would I read it again? Solid no.

So those are my lowest rated and least favourite books! What about you? Any similarities? Any differences? Let me know!

Thanks for reading! xx

  1. Oooh finally someone talks about Eleanor and Park! Everyone seems to like it but I have to say I really wasn’t a big fan of this book. I don’t hate it though, it just didn’t meet my expectations…
