Three day lyrical challenge: day 3

The Bookworm Girl and Rebecca @ Bookishly Rebecca nominated me for this fun tag, where you share one song or one lyric for three days! Thank you again so much for the tag! It’s a lot harder than I thought, so to narrow down the last song, I tried to focus on lyrics (which is the point of this tag but I haven’t really been following).

But I’m thinking of doing another music post sometime soon, so let me know if you’d like that! Luckily, I was recently tagged by Siobhan and Joe to do this tag, so it will be coming again so I can focus on more books!!

The rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Share one of your favourite song/lyrics one at a time for three days.
  3. Nominate three other bloggers each day.

Today, my song is Roll Away Your Stone by Mumford and Sons. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a song that so clearly captured what I was feeling at one point in time. I listened to it once in the last year and was like “wow, this is exactly what I was feeling the last two years” and it’s now much more important to me.

Roll away your stone, I’ll roll away mine
Together we can see what we will find
Don’t leave me alone at this time
For I’m afraid of what I will discover inside

‘Cause you told me that I would find a hole
Within the fragile substance of my soul
And I have filled this void with things unreal
And all the while my character it steals

“Darkness” is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see

It seems that all my bridges have been burnt
But you say that’s exactly how this grace thing works.
It’s not the long walk home that will change this heart
But the welcome I receive with a restart

“Darkness” is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see
“Darkness” is a harsh term don’t you think?
And yet it dominates the things I see

Stars hide your fires
These here are my desires
And I will give them up to you this time around
And so I’ll be found
With my stake stuck in this ground
Marking the territory of this newly impassioned soul

Hide your fires
These here are my desires
And I will give them up to you this time around
And so I’ll be found
With my stake stuck in this ground
Marking the territory of this newly impassioned soul

But you, you’ve gone too far this time
You have neither reason nor rhyme
With which to take this soul that is so rightfully mine

I tag: Erin, Kelly, and Sarah. As always, no pressure! (and sorry if you’ve already done it!!!)

That’s all for today and for this tag. Let me know what your favourite songs are, and if I should do more music-related posts!

Thanks for reading! xx
