Questions from Sav

Which summer movies are you most anticipating?

So this is late and it is now fall, but I cannot wait to see The Hate U Give and A Star is Born!!!!!

Which authors would you would like to see write a book together?

This is such a good and tough question! I feel like Neil Gaiman and V. E. Schwab could come up with such an interesting idea.

What are your go-to feel-good movies/shows/music/activities/etc.?

The Good Place and Brooklyn Nine-Nine are two of my go-to feel-good TV shows. I love them both. Especially the Good Place, I’ve been watching it non-stop lately. I have a whole feel-good playlist on Spotify, if you want to see what music I listen to!

A book or book series you would like to see adapted into a movie or show and who would you want to see adapt it?

This is such a hard question! I think Little Fires Everywhere is being turned into a TV show soon, which I’m super stoked about!

What are some blogging goals you would like to achieve before the end of the year?

I want to read 800 followers (secretly 1000 but I’m putting 800 so I don’t feel bad if I’ve failed) and continue to post two book reviews a month.

Did you enjoy or hate the books you were assigned to read in school?

A bit of both! Some of them I liked, like The Crucible and The Kite Runner, and some I was not a fan of, like Doubt.

How to do you treat yourself?

Chocolate and wine and a bath #basic

Favourite non-Disney animated movie?

Spirited Away! It’s my favourite movie of all time. Technically it was brought to North America by Disney, but they didn’t make it, so it counts! If you’ve never seen it, I highly recommend it.

Favourite memes?

Gah so many. Recently I’ve been making my own memes, because I’m a loser. Here’s some I recently made using a photo of Auston Matthews and Mike Babcock.

I also have a love-hate relationship with Loss.jpg. All the loss memes are my favourite and I will laugh/sigh at all of them. Here are some recent favourites:

Favourite tropes?

Fake dating will always win.

How do you like your pizza?

I’m boring and I like plain cheese pizza. But if I’m making my own pizza, I like cheese, garlic, red onion, basil, zucchini, and goat cheese. Trust me about the zucchini.

Questions from Caidyn and Chantel

Do you have a favorite memoir?

The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. It’s one of my favourite books ever and I love it so much.

If you could make a playlist based on your personality what songs would be on it? (As many or as little as you want.)

Gahhh this is so hard. Short Skirt, Long Jacket by Cake is me in a song but so is Waving Through a Window from Dear Evan Hansen, so definitely those two.

(This question is fun, so we’re keeping it!) What’s your favourite post that you’ve written?

Oooh this is such a good question! I like most of my discussion posts! Maybe the one I did a while ago on medication in YA books. I feel like it’s something that’s often overlooked, and so many people had so many nice things to say.

If you had the chance, what memory you would like to be able to replay in perfect detail?

I can’t think of one specific memory. I’ve had a few times in my life where time literally feels like it slows down and I feel 100% at peace and happy, but I also don’t think I’d want to reply most of those. Honestly maybe my last day with my grandmother, because we didn’t realise it was the last time I’d be seeing her and I don’t remember much of it and I’d like to.

What’s your favourite book and why?

I don’t have one!! I love too many books!!!! I’m indecisive!!!

How much do you typically read in a day?

For school, like 100 pages. That’s not even an exaggeration, I counted one day. It’s rough. Please send help.

Do you like reading classics?

I haven’t read too many classics, and the ones I have read, I either loved or hated. So  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When you hear the phrase “Treat yo self” what comes to mind?

See above, but mainly chocolate and sugar.

What makes you happy?

A lot of things, tbh. I’m really easily entertained and amused and a lot of things make me happy. Pretty things, honestly. And funny joke things.

Name one fictional character that you relate to.

Honestly, Sirius Black sometimes. I hated it, but in the fifth when he gets moody and petty, I relate. Sorry lol.

Do you get any book subscription boxes? If so, what is it? If you do multiple, what’s your favourite one?

I don’t, but I’m interested in them. I don’t always know if they’re worth the money, and I’m a student.

Questions from Jayati

What is your favourite word?

I like the word meretricious, which means “seemingly attractive but of little or no actual value.” It was used in a really sexist way in Anna and the French Kiss, but I like the word.

Which book will you never get tired of rereading?

So many! The Harry Potter books though probably top that list.

Why did you start blogging?

I wanted to talk about my favourite books and thought a blog would be a good way to do that!

One thing you would never give up?

Uhhhhh food? In all honesty, freedom lol

Which type of posts do you have the most fun while writing?

I like writing discussions! And lists lmao

Favourite blog post (by you or any other writer)?

See above!!

If you had to change your name, what would it be?

Well technically, me choosing Ally was me changing my name, so we’ll go with that!

What one question would you like to ask me?

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Last thing you Googled?

Loss.jpg lmao

What language do you wish you could speak?

French! I live in Canada and want to go into politics, so speaking French would be super useful.

How do you deal with a reading slump?

I read an old favourite or a fun book I know I love.

I tagged a bunch of people last week, so I’m going to tag anyone today. And another Sunshine award will be coming soon, so we’ll save the tagging for then!

Thank you all for reading! And thank you again to my wonderful friends for the tag! ❤

Ally xx

  2. Oh yes rereading old favourite books is my FAVOURITE way to get out of a slump! I think I’ve reread like 5 books this month.💛It’s been so fun!😂And motivating! Also speaking French would be AWESOME and I really can’t wait to see the THUG movie too although I don’t think it’s out in Australia for like aaages yet. It’ll probably be available to rent before we even get it haha. But that’s ok!! I prefer renting movies from home anyway!! Loved reading your answers here!
