This week the topic is books to get you out of a slump! Reading slumps are the worst, and these are some categories of books and specific books to help pull you out of a slump.

The easy-to-read YA favourite: Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

I love this book and have probably read it at least 10 times before. I can always count on it to bring me out of a slump, or to at least hold my attention if I’m in a slump.

A creepy, suspenseful read: The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchinson

I just recently read this, and it was so creepy and interesting!!! I wanted to keep reading and know what happened next, so it’s perfect to help pull you out of a slump.

An old favourite: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I haven’t reread this book in AGES but I recently rewatched the movie and it’s still amazing, and I know the book would totally bring me out of a slump.

A fast-paced, action-packed novel: Dark Matter by Blake Crouch

This one has so much action and the plot is pretty much non-stop, which I think is perfect if you’re bored by everything you read. I definitely recommend it.

  1. I enjoy The Hunger Games, but it doesn’t hold the “favorite and will get me out of a slump” spot for me. I do have other books that fill that spot, though! And I really need to read Dark Matter. It sounds so good!

    1. That’s fair! I actually haven’t reread it since high school, but I rewatched the movie lately and remembered how much I used to love it.
      Dark Matter is like reading a movie! It’s so action-packed and fast-paced
