Find out more about the Goodreads group here! This month is technically creepy reads, but I don’t read a ton of creepy books. So instead I did fall reads! Books that are perfect to read in the fall.
The Power by Naomi Alderman
I just feel like the vibe of this book is very fall-esque. It’s kind of atmospheric, kind of creepy, kind of disturbing. Definitely a good fall read.
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
I think mysteries in general are great for fall, and I think this is one of the best. If you haven’t read it before, I definitely recommend it.
The Lost Girls by Heather Young
Another mystery, and this is a super atmospheric one. This one actually takes place in summer and winter, but I think the vibe is good for fall. I read it last Thanksgiving and definitely recommend it.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Again, I just feel like this book has such a fall vibe. I don’t really know why, considering a large portion of it takes place in the winter.
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
It takes place in a graveyard, what more explanation do you need?
The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchinson
This is such a creepy book, and I think it’s perfect for fall and the theme of creepy books.
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
Another mystery-type book. I know this one is hit-or-miss, but I really enjoyed it and definitely recommend it.
Nothing by Janne Teller
Again, another creepy(ish) book. This is more just when you think about it for too long. But the atmosphere is great, and I highly recommend it.
So those are my fall recommendations! Have you read any of these? What were your thoughts?? Any other recommendations?
Thanks for reading! xx
Great list! I love Agatha Christie, and her books are perfect for this time of year 😊

Ooooh And Then There Were None is one of my FAVOURITE Agatha Christie books. I had it on my fall recommendations too! I also want to read The Power, so perhaps I’ll pick it up soon if it’s a great book to read this season. The Lovely Bones I have mixed feelings about, but I read it so long ago I’m not sure about it anymore. But I definitely agree that if it were to be read in any season, fall is definitely the best one!

Yes, it’s so good! I’d definitely recommend the Power, especially if you like feminist novels lol. I know the Lovely Bones is hit or miss for a lot of people. I’d also recommend the movie if you haven’t seen it!

These are PERFECT for this time of year. I read lovely bones in January- and oh my gosh, what a solid read. I just finished my book last night (The Passenger- Lisa Lutz- have you read? SO good), but need a new read, so thank you for the suggestions!

I have, it was well done! I wasn’t sure how they were going to do it- but I was impressed for sure.
Yes, I actually just finished it and it was a wonderful read! I had no idea how it was going to play out and it had some serious twists at the end. The best!

Great list! I’m planning to read — or at least start — American Gods this month, and I’m also going to be reading The Legend of Sleepy Hollow because really, what other time of the year would you read that one? 😉
