Tag Tuesday: the Lady Janies Book Tag

Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome to another Tag Tuesday!! Today I’m doing the Lady Janies Book Tag, created by the always lovely Rebecca and Ellyn!! Thank you Rebecca for the tag, and both of you for creating such a fun tag!! I haven’t read the Lady Jane books, but this tag was still a lot of fun.

The Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Answer all the questions down below
  • Pingback to the creators: Rebecca @ BookishlyRebecca & Ellyn @ Allonsythornraxx
  • Nominate 5+ bloggers to do this tag

JANE LYNCH: A favourite book featuring a character on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum

32620332

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. Are we surprised I mentioned this book? No. Are we disappointed? Also no because this book deserves it.

LADY JANE GREY: A short book that packed a punch

perksofbeingwallflower1

Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky. This is one of my favourite books and it really hits you right in the feels.

JANE AUSTEN: Favourite heroine in a classic book

I haven’t read a ton of classics, so I don’t think I have an answer for this? (also most classics are so male-centric that the ones I have read don’t feature any women lol)

JANE EYRE: Your favourite retelling

8428195

I also haven’t read a ton of retellings, but I love Entwined by Heather Dixon. It’s so good and atmospheric (my fave) and I love it.

CALAMITY JANE: Your most anticipated release

25446343

Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor!!!!!!! I loved Strange the Dreamer more than I expected to and I’m so excited for the sequel!!

JANE FONDA: A character who upholds feminist ideals

25812109

Alex Craft from the Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis. She’s such a good character and has such a great view of other women.

JANE KRAKOWSKI: An underrated book you wish more people would read

My Monthly Recommendations post and my upcoming Recommendations for… post are all about underrated books, so I’ll direct you to those instead! (sorry for the copout lol)

THE LADY JANIES: Two or more authors you wish would write a book together

Ooooh this is always such a good question. Okay I think Neil Gaiman and Celeste Ng could actually write something really cool together? Like Neil Gaiman could provide the idea/concept/weirdness and Celeste Ng could actually write it? idk maybe that’s wishful thinking.

I’m going to tag Kiersten and Nicole and anyone else who wants to do this tag!

Thank you again to Rebecca and Ellyn for the tag! And thank you all for reading!

  1. Ooh ok I know you didn’t ask for female-centric classic recommendations but I couldn’t resist. I’d highly recommend The Awakening by Kate Chopin, Jane Eyre, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, Antigone by Sophocles, A Doll’s House by Henrik Ibsen, Medea by Euripides… not sure if you’ve read any of them but hopefully some of them will be of interest!

And yes, Alex Craft is such a good answer to that question.

  2. Fun, thanks for the tag!

Entwined has been on my Amazon wishlist for ages now, but since no one has bought it for me (LOL, my family usually lets me buy my own books even when I give them ideas) I think I need to buy it for myself.
