Questions from the Bookworm Girl

Why did you create your blog?

I wanted somewhere I could talk about books and other things I love, so I started a blog! I’d been thinking about doing book reviews for like 6 years on Tumblr and just never got around to it. So I finally started this blog, and here I am!

What was your favourite children’s book?

SO MANY! I was in love with Robert Munsch, and I really identified with Stephanie from Stephanie’s Ponytail, so we’ll go with that.

What is your favourite warm drink in the winter?

Hot chocolate or mochas! I drink them year round! I’m just a bit of a chocoholic.

How do you organize your books?

There is no organization whatsoever. The only organization we have on our shelves is that books by the same author have to be together and series’ have to be in order. They used to be separated by our books and my parents’ books, but now there’s more overlap, so they’re less organized.

What’s the best thing to happen to you in 2018? Or what are you most looking forward to?

I graduated university and got into law school!!! I’m so incredibly excited and thankful about both of those things!

What is your least favourite book trope?

Girls who are ~not like other girls~. It’s just the worst!!!

If you could trade places with any character for a day, who would you pick and why?

OOOH this is a good question!! Honestly maybe Lily Evans, because I’d love to be friends with the Marauders.

What is a fictional food or drink you wish was real?

Any of the food from the Night Circus!! I’d love to try them!

If you could befriend any author, dead or alive, who would you choose?

Celeste Ng. I follow her on Twitter, and she’s wonderful. I’d love to have a conversation with her some day.

What’s the most disappointing book you’ve read?

Recently, I was somewhat disappointed with Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman. I didn’t dislike it, I just didn’t like it as much as I was hoping to.

What does your dream personal library look like?

I’d like to have one, to start lmao. I’d like tall shelves with a ladder to get up there and little platforms to stand on. And couches to read, and floor to ceiling windows. Honestly, just the library from Beauty and the Beast.

Questions from Dee

Are you a cat or dog person?

Both, but more of a dog person! I love cats, but I don’t think I’d ever own one, whereas I want about 900 dogs.

Do you listen to music while reading? If so, what type of music?

Not usually, but at work I listen to instrumental music. The Black Panther soundtrack is really motivational, if you need some music to listen to while working.

What’s your least favourite trope to read/watch?

See above!

Pineapple on pizza. Yes or no?

No, but I also don’t like 99% of pizza toppings. So it’s not pineapple’s fault.

What’s your most anticipated release in 2018?

Muse of Nightmares!! I loved Strange the Dreamer, and I’m so excited for the next one!

What’s your favourite book from a genre that you don’t normally enjoy?

I like most genres, so this one was harder than I thought. But I’ll go with Strange the Dreamer, because I’ve felt a little let down by YA/NA fantasy and I ended up loving this one.

What’s your Hogwarts house?

Ravenclaw! I used to call myself a Gryffindor (and still kind of do), but I’ve accepted I’m more Ravenclaw-ish.

How do you organize your books?

Again, see above. Minimally organized.

If you could only read series or standalones for the rest of your life, which would you choose and why?

Honestly, I think standalones. Most of my favourite books are standalones and I have some major issues with series.

What’s your dream job?

UGH IDK. In all honesty, I’d love to be James Bond. That’s not even sarcasm, I’d just love to be a spy.

In your opinion, what’s the most fun thing about blogging?

Interacting with everyone, for sure! I love commenting on everyone’s posts and when people comment on my blog! It always makes my day!

I’ve been bugging everyone with tags lately, and I’ve done this tag before, so I’m not going to tag anyone. But thank you all for your continued love and support! And thank you again for the nominations! 💖

Thanks for reading!

Ally xx

  1. I want a dedicated library too! But I think I’ll have to give up my craft supply space in the guest bedroom for that to happen. Well, that or we need to move to a much bigger house. Oh well.

    Congrats again about law school!

My family has done book-themed parties with menus inspired by the books before. (For example, we did a Harry Potter birthday party for my niece, and we had themed food for our Lord of the Rings movie marathon.) If I find any good Night Circus inspired recipes, I’ll post them on my blog. Hmm, I may need to do a throwback post to our other themed foods, too.
