Lowest rated TBR books

Long title of this post: The Lowest rated books on my TBR and why I still want to read them. Inspired by Kristin, so thank you so much for the inspiration!

Basically, these are the books on my Goodreads TBR that have the lowest overall ratings, and why I still want to read them.

The Midnight Dance by Nikki Katz: 3.20

This one sounds like a creepy YA book and takes place at a boarding school in Italy, so why wouldn’t I want to read it?

The Dinner by Herman Koch: 3.21

This one has a ton of mixed reviews, but I think it’s such an interesting concept. It sounds so cool and interesting.

This Darkness Mine by Mindy McGinnis: 3.26

I loved The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis, and even though this is completely different, I want to read more by McGinnis. And it sounds super interesting.

Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke: 3.31

Again, I’ve heard such mixed reviews of this book. But I think it sounds really interesting, and I love the cover.

Did You See Melody? by Sophie Hannah: 3.32

A murder mystery/kidnapping?? Sounds right up my alley. Idk why this one has such a low rating (I’ve been avoiding the reviews to avoid spoilers) because I think it’s sounds so cool.

So those are the lowest rated books on my TBR! Have you read any of these? Did you agree with the ratings? Let me know!

  1. Fun post! I do agree with the rating for This Darkness Mine… loveeedddd Female of the Species, but just couldn’t connect to the mc in This Darkness Mine at all.

  2. I really wanted to read Wink Poppy Midnight too, but let the negative review stop me from purchasing it. Also, the fact that the book was so overhyped when it came out, I felt like it couldn’t be too good. Weird, I know! I hope I can find this one at the library!

  3. Such a fun post idea! I’d be interested in seeing what you think if you make it through all of these, or if you wind up deciding to skip some of them.

  4. Great post! I’m gonna have to do one of these myself, and link back to you and Kristin ofc!
I read the Sophie Hannah books and it thoroughly disappointed, I ended up giving it 2 stars (I never give 1 star reviews…) I know others who loved it though so it’s really a marmite kinda book! Hopefully you’ll enjoy it though 🙂
