Happy Wednesday everyone!
I recently finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, which I completely adored, and have now fallen into a reading slump/book hangover. So I thought I’d get your help in choosing my next read!
The contenders:
- The Leavers by Lisa Ko
- Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
- The Power by Naomi Alderman
- Artemis by Andy Weird
- 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami
- The Translation of Love by Lynne Katsukake
I’ve started 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami and am slowly reading it, so should I just devote my time to that one? I’ve had the Translation of Love on my bedside table for a few days now and have yet to pick it up, but it sounds interesting and I do want to read it. But I’ve also wanted to read all the others for a while now. See my issue?
Please vote below and help your girl out!!
Ahhh I’m so thrilled you enjoyed The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I’m going to start reading it this week. 🙂
I feel like 1Q84 is such a huge book, so maybe you can pick one “lighter” one to read on the side? I’m not too sure which one I’d pick, though. 🙈

It was so good!! I hope you enjoy it ☺️
I know, it’s so long!!! I’ve been enjoying what I’m reading, but I feel like it’s too long to read in one go

Thank you!! ☺️
I’ve actually been wanting to read it for an eternity, but I’m so intimidated. 🙈

I highly suggest Homegoing. I can’t quite put into words how brilliant and powerful it was.

Yay about The Seven Husbands!!! We both read it this year and it was fantastic. Completely fantastic.
I really loved Homegoing out of the ones you put, especially the audiobook.

The only one I can speak to is Artemis, which I thought was awesome. It was intense, and science-y, but still a quick, fun read.

It might be exactly what I need!

I haven’t read any of these sadly but I’ve heard great things about The Power!
I can’t wait to read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo now if it was that good 🙂

I’ve started 1Q84 and it’s really interesting! I think I’m going to keep reading it until I can decide what else to read haha

hahaha yeah, I have heard that the author is “eccentric”? or that his books are way different from what we are used to haha I think that one is like 3 books in one XD

Definitely very eccentric and different! And it is! I think it’s marketed as one now, but it was written as three I think? and it’s divided into three sections, which makes it kinda less daunting

it is marked as one, but it kind of has 3 inside? I saw a “box” with the three parts. like LOTR haha and yes, for sure haha it gives you a feeling of accomplishment XD
