Happy Tuesday! Today I’m coming at you with a book tag. I was tagged by the lovely Rebecca to do this tag! This tag was originally created by Goodreads user, buydebook, which is such a great name tbh.
1. HOW MANY BOOKS IS TOO MANY BOOKS IN A BOOK SERIES?
Personally, I think three or four is a good number for a series. This is going to sound ridiculous, but I don’t have a lot of time to read 😦 and there’s so many books I want to read, so I’d rather read those than spend a ton of time reading a series.
2. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT CLIFFHANGERS?
Honestly, I don’t mind them all that much. I talked a bit about them on a post here!
3. HARDCOPY OR PAPERBACK?
I like paperbacks. They’re just easier to hold (I’m a baby, okay).
4. FAVOURITE BOOK?
Am I honestly supposed to pick a favourite? I had FOUR favourites from last year alone. But some favourites are The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas, The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis, I am the Messenger by Markus Zusak, and Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
5. LEAST FAVOURITE BOOK?
I don’t know if I have a least favourite book, but I really wasn’t a fan of The Sunbird by Wilbur Smith.
6. LOVE TRIANGLES, YES OR NO?
I’m not a massive fan, but I also don’t hate them? If they’re done well, I don’t mind.
7. THE MOST RECENT BOOK YOU JUST COULDN’T FINISH?
American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I was really enjoying this book, but it was getting long and there was some personal stuff in my life that started being too similar to what was happening in the book, so I had to put it down. But I have every intention of finishing it very soon!
8. A BOOK YOU’RE CURRENTLY READING?
Dark Matter by Blake Crouch. I’m only like three pages in, but I’m enjoying it so far! I’m also plodding away at 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, which is beautiful.
9. LAST BOOK YOU RECOMMENDED TO SOMEONE?
uhhhhhhhh I’m pretty sure I recommended the Red Rising trilogy to some of my friends. The bookstore at our university was selling Iron Gold and I was talking about it and then was recommending it to them.
OH I also gave my mom Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie after reading it.
10. OLDEST BOOK YOU’VE READ?
Probably Shakespeare? Physically, we have an original copy of The Dog Who Wouldn’t Be by Farley Mowat, which came in in the 1930s I think?
11. NEWEST BOOK YOU’VE READ?
Again, uhhhhh. Honestly maybe The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas? I think it’s the most recent release I’ve read? I’m really bad at staying on top of these things. Actually, thinking again I think it’s the sun and her flowers by Rupi Kaur, which I really enjoyed!
12. FAVOURITE AUTHOR?
Neil Gaiman. I just love his writing.
13. BUYING BOOKS OR BORROWING BOOKS?
I like buying books because they’re pretty. BUT I also like borrowing them from people. So both?
14. A BOOK YOU DISLIKE THAT EVERYONE ELSE SEEM TO LOVE?
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. I couldn’t finish it. I hated Finch with a burning passion. He was just SO. BAD. I didn’t connect to any of the characters and hated them both and cringed at so much.
15. BOOKMARKS OR DOG-EARS?
Both? I dog-ear books, but only certain books? Only paperbacks and only if they’re used and almost always if they’re mass-market paperbacks. But I also don’t like bookmarks, which is weird I know. But I’d rather use like a random piece of paper.
16. A BOOK YOU CAN ALWAYS REREAD?
Most books! This was a recent TTT topic, which you can read here!
17. CAN YOU READ WHILE HEARING MUSIC?
I like listening to instrumental music. But most music, no. I like singing along, which is hard to do when I’m reading.
18. ONE POV OR MULTIPLE POV’S?
Depends on the story! In fantasy/sci-fi, I like multiple POVs. But in contemporary, I like single.
19. DO YOU READ A BOOK IN ONE SITTING OR OVER MULTIPLE DAYS?
Depends on the book. Some books I can devour. I read Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman and The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis in one or two days each. But other times it takes me weeks to read a book.
20. ONE BOOK YOU READ BECAUSE OF THE COVER?
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng. I am obsessed with the cover. It’s gorgeous. I mean, look at it!
I tag:
But no pressure!!
Thanks for reading everyone! xx
This tag is so cool! I love finding out more about bloggers, and this one was such a good way to do that!

It’s always fun to see other responses to book tags! Though, after complaining about love triangles when I wrote my replies to this, I realized that maybe they’re not always bad. I just can’t come up with many examples of when they’re done well.

I know, I don’t hate them, they’re just often poorly executed!
