The last day of this tag! Rebecca, Anatomy of a Book Thief, and Joe tagged me in the this tag, and it’s been a lot of fun. Today is the last day, which is both sad and exciting because I really enjoyed finding the quotes for it but also it was a lot to find the quotes? But I had fun reading a bunch of quotes from my favourite books.
The rules
- Thank the person who nominated you
- Post a new quote for three consecutive days
- Nominate three new bloggers each day
you tell me
i am not like most girls
and learn to kiss me with your eyes closed
something about the phrase – something about
how i have to be unlike the women
i call sisters in order to be wanted
makes me want to spit your tongue out
like i am supposed to be proud you picked me
as if i should be relieved you think
i am better than them
From milk and honey by Rupi Kaur
I had mixed feelings about this poetry collection, but I really enjoyed this sentiment of this one and I 100% agree with everything Kaur says.

Have you listened to the song “Most Girls” by Hailee Steinfeld?!?! The youtube music video starts with her with a guy and he says “I’m glad we got to hang out again, you are just not like most girls” and she leaves him. Then the song starts and its about how “Most Girls” are awesomeand how she wants to be like “most girls”
Its an amazing song! Its got the same powerful message as the poem you picked! Great Choice!!!

This is such a great pick, I never thought of picking a poem (which is probably a good thing as I had too many quotes to choose from anyway!), so glad you did the tag! 🙂

Thank you! I thought a poem might count as cheating, but I liked it so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thank you again for tagging me!!

I love this! I have always hated the “not like other girls” trope. It’s such an offensive thing to women. Wonderful quote! And I definitely need to read Milk and Honey!

Thank you!! It’s the worst trope, honestly! And yes, it was good! I also really enjoyed her other one, the sun and her flowers!

I hear great things about that one too. Her books are everywhere and I have been putting them off. I have to try to get to them soon
