Three things about me

  • I’m attending law school next year!!!
  • My undergrad degree is in public health and I really enjoyed it

From Sarah Jane

If you could unread a book, what book would it be?

This is such an interesting question! I think Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. I wasn’t a fan of it, and I’ve heard so many good things about Rowell’s other works but I’m not interested in them because of Eleanor and Park. So I wish I could unread Eleanor and Park so I would be more open to her other ones.

If you could read a book for the first time again, what book would it be?

Other than the obvious (Fight Club) I think I’ll go with Looking for Alaska by John Green. It’s my favourite John Green novel and I would love to experience it again.

A popular book you’ll never read?

Honestly probably the ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas. I just don’t think it’s for me.

A book recommendation of a book that not a lot of people know about?

I’m going recommend a totally random book and say Dream Factory by Brad Barkley and Heather Hepler. It’s about teenagers who work at Disneyland, and it’s so fun. I feel like literally no one but me has read it.

A book you wish someone would write?

So many tbh. I would love a book on Harry Potter’s parents’ generation at Hogwarts.

From Erin

Which book got you interested in reading?

I’ve always been a reader, so I don’t think there’s one book I can pinpoint as the book that started that. But the Magyk series was one of my earliest favourites that I read by myself, so maybe that.

What’s your biggest bookish pet peeve?

Insta-love probably? Or girl-on-girl hate for no reason. Or girls who are ~not like other girls~. Basically just internalized mysogyny I guess??

What’s your greatest strength as a reader? Greatest weakness?

This is also such a great question! I think my biggest strength is that I’m objective, if that makes sense? I think I can read a book and enjoy it 100% but also see it’s flaws and acknowledge them. I think it’s important to be objective but still enjoy things fully. I’m also pretty good at reading books I’m pretty sure I’ll like, which is useful.

I think my greatest weakness is I’m a fairly slow reader and sometimes forget to read, if that makes sense? Like I’ll either binge-read a book in two days or it’ll take me three weeks to read it because I keep forgetting I’m reading it.

What author would you like to interview and why?

I think Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I really enjoy her writing and a lot of what she has to say about feminism, but she’s also said some things that I disagree with and I think we could have a really interesting conversation. Also maybe Pierce Brown, for similar reasons.

What are your favourite kind of blog posts to write?

I like most posts haha. I think maybe reviews, but I also like doing recommendation posts and Top 5 Wednesday posts.

My best/favourite posts

Best: Thursday’s Top Four: favourite short books

Recent favourites: How well does Goodreads know me?; Discussion: portrayal of medication in YAStandalone Sunday/review: the Female of the Species

I nominate: Rachel, Rebecca, Nicole, Joe, LaRonda, Dee, Charlotte, Haley, Bree, Kelly

My questions:

  • If you could change one thing about a book, what would it be?
  • What’s a bookish turn-off? Like something that will make you not read a book?
  • If you could attend any bookish wedding, which would it be?
  • What’s your favourite type of tea?
  • Who’s your favourite Disney princess?

No pressure of course!

Thanks again to Erin and Sarah Jane for the nominations!! And thank you all for reading xx

  1. Awesome, sounds like fun! (But it will probably also take me a while to write the post… 🙂 LOL) Also, I love your answers! And I’m curious about what type of horseback riding you do. I used to go trail riding (so much more fun on our own horses instead of rental horses) and I miss it a lot.
