Learn more about Top Ten Tuesday here! This week is the Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings, or my Christmas wish list! I have twelve… I couldn’t narrow it down oops
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor: I heard so much about this book this year and it sounds right up my alley
The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis: same as above, and it sounds very girl-power which we all know I’m into
milk and honey by Rupi Kaur: I recently read the sun and her flowers, and I’ve wanted a copy of this book for forever
Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng: this cover is honestly gorgeous and I’ve heard so much about this book
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro: Kazuo Ishiguro won the Nobel Prize this year (I think?) so I really want to finally read something of his
Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates: this has been on my TBR for FOREVER and I’m trying to diversify my reading. I think it’s good to read things that will make you feel a bit uncomfortable sometimes
The Power by Naomi Alderman: this was one of Emma Watson’s picks for her feminist book club this year, so I want to read it
Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman: I’ve heard so many good things about this recently and I think it’ll be something I really connect with
Artemis by Andy Weir: although I think I’m buying it for my brother so that I can also have it
Ready Player One by Earnest Cline: I think it’s being made into a movie soon? so I should read it soon
Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys: I love Sepetys’ other book Between Shades of Gray and I’ve heard amazing things about this
1Q84 by Haruki Marakami: I just love this cover and want to have a physical copy
Most of these honestly are because I really like the covers and want physical copies of them. Most of them are on my top TBR list or are ones I’ve heard a ton about lately, so I’m excited to (hopefully) get them.
Which books are on your wish list?
Thanks for reading!! xx
YEEEEEE – so happy to see some Murakami here, he’s my absolute FAVORITE writer in the history of EVER. I still haven’t read IQ84, I really want to but, I mean… that book is like a million pages long!!!!
Anyway, I hope santa brings you all these goodies and have a merry Christmas Ally! 🙂

Ooh, you have so many books I adored on your wishlist! The Female of the Species, Little Fires Everywhere, Starfish, and Salt to the Sea were all either 4.5 or 5 star reads for me. As was Between the World and Me– I actually have Ta-Nehisi Coates’s newest book on my Christmas list this year. I just bought The Power and cannot wait to read it! I hope you receive all the books on your wishlist this holiday season! ❤

Strange the Dreams has been sitting on my shelf for some time and I still haven’t managed to pick it up. And I’ve always wanted to read a Ruta Sepetys book but, I haven’t gotten around to it yet. As for Artemis, I’ve been seeing it everywhere. Literally! The hype surrounding it is kind of terrifying, truth be told, and the main reason I’m not sure whether it’s worth reading or not. Hope you have a wonderful week!

I’ve heard so many good things about it, but it’s also kind of daunting. I read Ruta Sepetys’ other novel, Between Shades of Grey, and loved it, so I’m super excited for Salt to the Sea!
I know! I ended up buying Artemis for my brother for Christmas haha. I’ll get him to read it and tell me how it is!
Thank you! You too 🙂 thanks for reading!

Ready Player One is on my TBR, too! I think I want to read Weir’s The Martian before I look at Artemis, though.
And I didn’t know Emma Watson had a feminist book club! So cool.

I definitely recommend the Martian! And the audiobook for it is awesome too!
It’s called Our Shared Shelf on Goodreads! There’s a feminist book every two months, which is super interesting.

Lovely list- I hope you get everything on it! I really want to read Strange the Dreamer too and I’ve heard such good things about Little Fires everywhere too. Never Let Me Go is so good and I liked Salt to the Sea even more than Between Shades of Grey. I also really liked Ready Player One and Artemis 🙂

I definitely want Strange the Dreamer. That and The Bear and the Nightingale. I feel like I’m the only person left who hasn’t read that one yet.
I did read Ready Player One. You’ll have to get your hands on a copy before the movie comes out! It was worth the read. 🙂

I’ve heard so many good things about Strange the Dreamer! I don’t think the Bear and the Nightingale is my thing though.

That’s what makes me so curious about it. I’ve seen so many reviews for it. Most of them are raving about how wonderful it is. Then there are some that are more like, “Meh, it was okay.” I guess I’m just curious to see where I would fall.

The cover for “Starfish” is gorgeous. What is it about?
Both “Never Let Me Go” and “Between the World and Me” are on my TBR too!

Hopefully we both get to them soon!
Thanks for reading 🙂

We should read something by Ta-Nehisi Coates for our buddy read! I’ve been wanting to read something by him and that could make for some awesome discussion. 🙂

The Female of the Species was my NUMBER ONE FAVORITE BOOK OF 2017, so if there’s ONE book on this list I hope you get, it’s that one. Totally girl-power and it will wreck but inspire you!! ❤ Starfish is one that I really want!!
