Thursday’s Top 4: non-fluffy books

Find out more about Thursday’s Top 4 here! It’s basically a meme I started mainly for myself, but anyone can participate! Visit this page for the upcoming topics 🙂

This week’s topic is non-fluffy books, books with minimal romance. There was a T5W post similar to this a while ago, but I’ll link it here if you want to read it!

And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

It’s a creepy mystery and there’s nothing fluffy about it at all!

Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

Though there’s some romance in it, there’s nothing fluffy.

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

This is a book about love, and some psychotic people might read it as fluffy, but it 100% is not fluffy.

The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

Again, Theo has relationships and loves people, but I don’t really think about fluffiness when I think about his relationships.

Thanks for reading!

  1. Interesting list! I didn’t used to care if there was romance in a book… and then I *wanted* romance in a book (when there was none in my life)… and now I find that I don’t mind one way or the other, but I want to know which it is going in. Strange how our reading tastes change in subtle ways.

      1. For a while it seems all the books I picked up had sneaky romances. Those drove me crazy. If there’s a romance that takes up that much of the storyline, say so in the synopsis! /rant

        Sorry about that.
