HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! I hope everyone eats lots of candy and watches lots of horror movies! I thought today in honour of Halloween I’d do the Halloween Creatures book tag!
Rules:
- Follow the categories
- You must be honest
- You must answer all questions to the best of your ability
- You must tag at least 3 people
- Have fun!
- Credit would be greatly appreciated (credit goes to Anthony at Keep Reading Forward for creating this tag! Thanks for the great tag!!)
Witches: A book or character that is magical
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern is the most magical book I’ve ever read.
Mummies: A book or character you can’t wrap your mind around
Caraval by Stephanie Garber. I just…don’t know? I have so many mixed feelings?
Vampires: A book, series, or author you can’t live without
Harry Potter. I know, I know. It’s cliched. But it’s true y’all.
Werewolves: A book best read in the middle of the night
I do almost all my reading at night. But I think the Lost Girls by Heather Young. It was creepy and atmospheric, but not too creepy. I really enjoyed it and have a review coming soon!
Zombies: A book you picked up for the 2nd time/Continued after DNF’ing it
I generally don’t pick up books again if I’ve DNF’d them, but I think Delirium by Lauren Oliver might count. I read it, disliked it, then read it again a few years later to see if I liked it any better. I did not.
Ghosts: A book you easily predicted a twist or ending
OH I haven’t read it, but Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. I called the ending from a million miles away. Sorry.
Frankenstein: A book that truly shocked you
Morning Star by Pierce Brown. The ending was too good.
Skeletons: A book or character that chilled you to the bone
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov. I love this book sososo much but it’s also so creepy.
Ghouls: A book that left you hungry
…hungry for more? I think again Caraval. It had such a good premise, it just didn’t totally work.
Goblins: A greedy character
I can’t think of anyone??
Devil: A dark, evil character
Umbridge from Harry Potter. She’s just twisted and mean for no reason.
Grim Reaper: A character you loved/hated that died
AHHH I don’t want to spoil anything because I know for a fact some of you reading this haven’t finished the series, but there’s a character who dies in Morning Star and can I just say that YES PIERCE BROWN DID DO THAT. I loved and hated that they died.
Scarecrow: A book or character the scares you
I already mentioned Lolita so I guess I can’t say Humbert Humbert, so I’ll go with Mayor Prentiss from Chaos Walking. What a good villain!
Because it’s Halloween, I won’t tag anyone, but if you haven’t done this tag yet and want to, consider yourself tagged!
Thanks again for reading!
Fun book tag! My zombie book would have to be ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL by James Herriot. I had to put that one down halfway through because it was dragging… finally finished it, but it felt like an uphill battle.
Several of the others on your list are on my TBR list, so I’m looking forward to comparing notes when I (eventually) finish them!
