The End of Year Book Tag!

This tag was created by Ariel Bisset on her Youtube channel here and I was tagged by Camila @ Ink Drops Books! Thanks again so much for the nomination! I had a lot of fun doing this tag 🙂

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?

I started the Darker Shades of Magic trilogy, which I want to finish. I’m also still working away at the Beauty Myth and have resolved to finish it!

Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?

I find it so hard to read with school, so I don’t 😦

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

I’m really excited for Stephanie Perkins’ new one There’s Someone Inside Your House and Warcross by Marie Lu! (which I think are both out now???)

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

I want to finish the Darker Shades of Magic trilogy (which is technically two books but I’ll count it as one shhhh), Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, and American Gods by Neil Gaiman. The last two I said I’d read over the summer and never got to, so they’ll probably be the first ones I read when school is done.

Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book of the year?

Honestly I’ve read so many good books this year that I don’t think so? But you never know!

Have you already started making reading plans for 2018?

I haven’t really because I tend to read whatever I want to. My overall goal is to cut down on my Goodreads TBR list, but that’s always the goal soooo. The only books I definitively want to read are 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami and milk and honey by Rupi Kuar, which have both been on my TBR for forever and have beautiful covers so I’m probably going to ask for them for Christmas so I can have physical copies.

Thanks again to Camila for the tag! And thank you everyone for reading! If you want to do this tag, consider yourself tagged!

xx

  1. I have plans for my reading in 2018 — I want to read books on the “top 100 books you should read” lists. Since all the lists are different, however, I’ve gone through and pulled the books I’m interested in from several lists and made my own list. I’ll be curious to see how much I like those books… many (most) of them are outside my usual spec fic genre, so it will be an interesting exercise in stretching my boundaries.

    1. That’s an awesome plan! I’m super excited to see your list and your thoughts.
My overall reading goal in life is to read those books that everyone says you have to read. I try to read one every year, but there’s also a bunch I’m not a fan of, so I just don’t bother with those lol

      1. I’ve been intending to read these books on a one-at-a-time basis for ages, and haven’t ready any of them by doing it that way. I figure if I take a year to get a jump-start on these books, maybe I’ll keep up with reading them (interspersed with my regular genre) after 2018.
