150 follower Q+A!!

I recently reached 150 followers and decided to do a Q+A to celebrate! Thank you to everyone who asked me questions and liked that post!

As this post goes live, I’m writing the LSAT for the second time so wish me luck!! Most of the posts for the past 2 weeks have been previously scheduled, so I’m excited to get back into writing more posts!!

And now, to the questions!

Coffeelovingbookoholic asked: if you could invite five authors to your birthday party, who would they be?

This is such a good question! I think JK Rowling, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Rick Riordan, Pierce Brown, and Tamora Pierce. I think it would be a great discussion about equality and feminism and politics and fantasy and books and it would be great!

Oldřiška asked: I’ve just started blogging so my first question is if you have some universal tip about blogging for the beginners.

I think my biggest tip is to use WordPress’s schedule feature and weekly memes or tags, especially if you’re in school and/or work! I like being able to schedule things like Top 5 Wednesday or Tag Tuesdays or such for every week/most weeks in advance so that way when I get busy with school, they’re already being posted and I don’t have to worry too much about them! And then that way I can focus more on liking and commenting on other people’s posts and put more effort into my reviews or discussions. But I also think finding what works for you best is important!

My second question is what is the best thing that happened because of your blog or some great memories about your blogging life?

I think my favourite thing that’s happened because of my blog is when a couple people said they started reading Red Rising because of my reviews 🙂 🙂 🙂 that made me so happy, especially when they in turn loved it! The whole reason I started a blog was to hopefully help people find books they like so it was awesome when that actually happened.

Kristin @ Kristin Kraves Books asked: what is the one movie that you can watch over and over again? Why?

This is hard because I like so many movies!!! I think probably Spirited Away, which is my all-time favourite movie. But also Top Gun, because it’s just so fun, and American Beauty, because it’s amazing, and the Nice Guys, because it’s one of the funniest movies I’ve ever watched (if you haven’t watched the Nice Guys please do yourself a favour and watch it tonight).

97 asked: did you ever have any doubts about your blog when you first started? If so, what were they?

I definitely had a few! I was worried that no one would like it or pay attention to it, which wasn’t really why I started a blog, but I did like talking to other bloggers so if no one read it that would be sad. But I also decided that I was going to continue blogging even if no one else read it, so I didn’t let that bother me too much (or I convinced myself it didn’t bother me too much!)

Thanks again to everyone for your questions! And thank you for all your continued support and for reading and liking and commenting on my posts!! 🙂

  1. Oh, I love Spirited Away! Every now and then it gets shown as a special event in cinemas, and I love seeing it on the big screen! (Next time it comes through, I plan on seeing the subtitled version. I’ve only seen the dubbed version so far.) It’s not nearly the same watching it on our TV at home. 🙂

    1. It’s so good on the big screen! I definitely recommend the subtitled version too! The dubbed one is still great, but there’s just something about watching it with subtitles that seems more true to the story
