Standalone Sunday: Will Grayson, Will Grayson

Standalone Sunday is a feature created here where each Sunday you feature a standalone book (not part of a series) that you loved or would recommend!

In honour of Pride Month, I’m going to feature a different book with an LGBTQIAP+ character for each Standalone Sunday the rest of the month. This week I’m highlighting Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green!

Paraphrased from Goodreads:

Will Grayson meets Will Grayson. It’s not that far from Evanston to Naperville, but Chicago suburbanites Will Grayson and Will Grayson might as well live on different planets. When fate delivers them both to the same surprising crossroads, the Will Graysons find their lives overlapping and hurtling in new and unexpected directions. With a push from friends new and old – including the massive, and massively fabulous, Tiny Cooper, offensive lineman and musical theater auteur extraordinaire – Will and Will begin building toward respective romantic turns-of-heart and the epic production of history’s most awesome high school musical.

I rated this as 3.5/5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book when I read it! I love the characters and how they change. There’s a really interesting exploration of appearing to have your shit together vs. actually having your shit together. The story was believable, interesting, and funny. It’s probably my second favourite John Green novel, and I highly recommend it!

Thanks for reading!
xx
