Tag Tuesday: Christmas Carol Book Tag

Another Christmas book tag. Look at me go. I’m not sure who the creator of this tag is (sorry :((((( )

You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch
Name a villainous character you can’t help but love to hate
Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter, for obvious reasons.

All I Want For Christmas Is You
What book do you most want to find under your Christmas tree this year?
I don’t think there were any specific books on my list this year because my to-read list from last year was too long, so I need to catch up on those.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Name a favourite character that had to overcome a major obstacle.  Why are they your favourite?
Another Harry Potter character, but Remus Lupin. Again, I don’t really think that needs explanation.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town
Which characters do you think are at the top of Santa’s “nice” and “naughty” list?
Nice: ???????????? Hermione Granger. Other than that I’m not sure.
Naughty: in terms of actual bad people, Humbert Humbert from Lolita (obviously). And Umbridge from Harry Potter.

Frosty the Snowman
What book just melts your heart?
Oooooh, there’s a lot tbh. Everyday by David Levithan (review here). Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins.

Feliz Navidad
Y
our favourite book that takes place in a country other than you own
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden. It’s so good.

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year
What book do you read to get in the Christmas spirit?
Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn. It’s just so sweet. I love it.

Sleigh Ride
What character would you most want to spend the holiday with?
I don’t know, really. Maybe the marauders from Harry Potter.

Baby It’s Cold Outside
What book do you hate so much you’d sacrifice it to the fire to stay warm?
Keeping with the creepy theme, 50 Shades of Grey. Not because it’s erotica, but because it promotes and glorifies abuse and coercion.

Do You Hear What I Hear?
What book would you recommend to everyone?
Well, that depends on a lot of things. Mystery: And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. YA Romance: Everyday by David Levithan. General fiction: the Goldfinch by Donna Tartt (review). Fantasy: Beka Cooper by Tamara Pierce. Non-fiction: the Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls (review here). There’s so many books I think everyone should read.

Thanks for reading 🙂
